This Month in The Bee Year
July: It is hot and dry. Make sure your bees have enough water. Also check on ventilation for the hive; you may want to prop the telescoping cover up and/or use a screened bottom board. And of course monitor your honey supers adding more as needed. For more details check out July in The Bee Year.

Minding Your Own Beeswax

Wednesday, July 1st

Honey may be the sweetest bee product but it isn't the only item you can harvest from your hives. Join Jan Aerts and the Trinity Valley Beekeepers on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Science Building at Eastfield College for a discussion of what to do with your beeswax. Jan will discuss tips on processing beeswax and we should have various wax melters on display.

We will also have our regular features: Christi's "bee plant of the month" and Alan's commentary on what is going on this month with your bees.

Beekeepers of all levels are encouraged to attend. The meeting is free and open to the public.
