This Month in The Bee Year
June: Your bees are gearing up for, or are already in the midst of the main nectar flow. Check your hives to make sure you have enough honey supers and check that your bees have a reliable water source. For more details check out June in The Bee Year.

June Meeting

Our June Meeting is scheduled for June 4th at 7pm. See the Meetings page for location and details.

Up for discussion is the recent posting by Alan on the tvbees google group:

Help me out with a little feedback.  By September, it's my goal to have the Trinity Valley Beekeepers (or whatever we choose to call ourselves) be self-governing.  By that I mean, incorporate, elect officers, and establish ourselves on a longer-term basis.

To get this started, I'd like to elect an Executive Committee at the June meeting.  Rather than a strictly hierarchical Pres / Vice Pres / Treas / Sec, this would be a slight more informal group of folks willing to take action on behalf of the club - be that running a meeting, organizing an activity, posting information to the members, or handling club funds.

The first job of the Committee would be to adopt a set of by-laws, establish a club account, getting a (non-profit) tax ID, etc.  Also, a flow of ideas for meeting topics would help.

So, what do you think?
A) It's too soon / it's a bad idea / let's just keep doing what we're doing;
B) It's a good idea, but I can't help;
C) I've been waiting for this; how can I help?

Plus any other comments or considerations, of course!
